This page is a real favorite with my students and their parents. Most teachers post student work in their classrooms and/or hallways. However, there is real excitement for the kids when you post their work on the web.  I tell them that the work is now published internationally since anyone can see it.  That is really exciting for them.

As you can see from this page, I have a variety of formats for student work -- everything from webpages to math poetry.  Remember, only you know what belongs here and you choose it the same way you choose what to hang in your classroom. There are a few guidelines that I always follow. Some of these are ones that I'm comfortable with and some are legally required:

  • never post the last names of students;
  • never post anything that will personally identifiable information such as email addresses, home addresses;
  • never post grades that were provided for the assignments; and
  • always ask the student's permission to post their work.  (I've never had one turn me down yet!)

What can you use to make digital graphics that can be put on your website?  I primarily use:

  • digital cameras; and
  • scanners.

If you are not sure if your school has these tools, ask your CTC or administrator!  I bet they do.  Of course, you can contact the Instructional Technology Dept. at YISD for assistance, as well.

For the math poetry, I typed them from the student work submitted.  If it was submitted electronically, I used the "copy and paste" feature!
